This strawberry cake recipe is so easy that it is ideal for people who claim they can not fry.
Growing up in the farm valley, summer began with a strawberry season. Choosing strawberries is the first job I had. And I spent many evenings at U-Picks with my family, because my grandmother was poisoned in the hot kitchen preparing for the whole year enough strawberry jam (and a freezer).
Strawberries are in my blood.
But this year I spent most of my time in Havana exploring Cuban meals and drinks more than my fair share of Cuban free cocktails.
And in Cuba there are fresh strawberries. Maybe you can find them in Mexico for Varadero or Cayo Coco resorts, but rent an apartment in Havana and there are only local fruit and vegetables on the market.
I hate to complain about July's mango and avocado season in Cuba. Two of my favorite things we can not grow in Canada. And I know that when you live somewhere else, it's always business. I love living in Havana, but …
I really missed strawberries.
When the strawberry season began, I had to stop looking at Instagram because my friends posted their latest creations. I lost my tropical fruit because I missed the beginning of Canadian summer.
But I'm back in Nova Scotia for a month to visit my family. And when in June there was an unusually late frost that destroyed many strawberry and blueberries, I am back in time at the end of the strawberry season. And the bonus, blueberry begins soon!
I have only a month to come back to Havana and plan to eat as much as possible berries.
Fast strawberry cakes
My Aunt Margaret introduced this strawberry cake recipe to our family. I'm not sure where she found it, it's probably out of a box of Philadelphia cream cheese, and then it's changing years later. Regardless, Kraft deserves this recipe.
I have said many times, I'm not a dessert person *. Asterik will come into force, because in Spain I will eat a dessert such as a cheese cake, creme brulee or his sister crema catalana. If you feel like I'm doing, these strawberry cakes are right on your alley.
My Aunt Margaret made this strawberry cake recipe for a family meeting when I was home. She always loved a couple of parties to get home at home. When I lived in Toronto, my sister Ryan sent me pictures of these cakes to show what I missed.
My sister was smart enough to ask for a recipe. And it revealed to me that they exist only 6 ingredients in this strawberry cake recipe! It was so easy. I could have done it all the time, whenever I traveled all over the world.
But I do not.
Instead I'll wait until I get home. Some recipes are only for home and family food. It's the same as lobster. It's my favorite food, but I'll always wait to have her at home, at a kitchen table filled with leaflets of the summer week.
It's not just food. These are people.
In addition, Nova Scotia has the best lobster in the world. And the warm sea lobster from the Caribbean is just a disappointment. I made a mistake when I sailed from Panama to Colombia.
Just because I will not produce strawberries does not mean you should not. It is ideal for barbecues and parties, where you have to bring something that everyone likes. It's ridiculously easy and everyone asks you for a recipe.
Strawberry Cake Recipe
Besides baking frozen shells of cake, there is no recipe for baking. This makes it incredibly versatile. Instead of strawberry cakes, you can make a strawberry pie. Simply remove the shell according to the instructions and top with the filling.
After the strawberry season it would be easy to use other fruits. Actually, I think the picked blueberries can really be fun. Or raspberries would be great, though I would probably add just a touch of more sugar to puree.

This recipe will make more than 12 tigers. It's closer to 14-15. You could buy two boxes of cakes.
