When I prepare for every trip, there are things that always come to me, no matter what type of trip – a beautiful trip to Seville or a nice long hop to Miami, always with me.
Here are 5 things you need for your next trip (in my opinion!)
Amazon Fire 10 HD Tablet
Costs from £ / $ / € 149 from Amazon
I always had Apple tablets, but the truth is, I very rarely used my iPad from the switch to the Phone Plus and currently my IphoneX. I have a MacBook 12 that fits perfectly into my purse, so the only thing I really felt the need for a tablet was watching movies on airplanes and trips. Could I justify the price for 1000 CZK? No – which means more money for shoes.
My friend Kim-Marie Evans of the luxury travel mummy had Amazon and on the recent Prime Day sale we bought one. And we love it. We bought the most storage space (but you can actually extend it with a microSD card, unlike the iPad). It was easy to set up, we have all Sky, Prime and Netflix applications and I do not need it for anything else. For £ 100 and something pound is perfect and the screen quality is great. It also doubles as Kindle and I'm sure it has many other features that we have not yet found
You will also need to (which doubles as a stand, so make sure you have one).
Personal Longchamp Le Pliage
Costs from £ 120 from Longchamp
We have 3 Longchamps Le Pliage (size XL) that we have always saved with us on every trip. You never know what you can buy, they are discreet and they do it really well. I also find it useful every time I forget to have a bag on the beach (which becomes much more than it should). When he is at home, I wash them in my washing machine and on average each of my bags lasts for almost 10 years. Price for use? £ 0.10. We recently had to replace one of ours and it was a perfect excuse to order personalized Le Pliage – for just £ 124, you can have your own bag, choose your color, stripe, handle and have it monogrammed. For the first I chose the Navy, so when it is next, I will do it the opposite and I will do it in gray. It took about two weeks to get it.
Tumi Monaco Voyageur Washbag
From $ 150 or $ 150 Amazon, Bloomingdales, Zappos
I feel I've been looking for this summer bag for years. I had one Tumi like years ago, but I always needed to add more toilet bags for longer trips (especially beach or ski trips with all the sunbathing products and other products you need). I like Monaco that you can just hang on a hook and you can also separate one part (black) and remove it when you do not need it. After an explosive misfortune I washed it and I expect it to take years. We have been faithful to Tumi for over ten years and very happy customers.
There is an update from Monaco, called Medina – find it on Zapposu
Vacuum insulated bottle of water
Costs from £ 25 / $ 20 per Amazon
We were very late in this game, and a few months ago I got a bottle. I thought it was a trick, but it really is not – I found it was obviously useful at work, but that was what we were trying to do when we went to the beach where the ball dropped. The water remains cold all day (12 hours, they say) and in some places with very limited or no "deckchair", it worked like a dream.
I'm still a bottle of water snob, but that means we stopped buying small bottles to practice and in the car. I'm afraid of our plastic waste and we really try to reduce our waste and that's a small step. I've been waiting for more than 4 weeks to include it in this roundup if I was just excited about it, but we're with him. Do not place the white vial because it tends to get a little dirty. And buy a washing brush, because it's the pain to clean them (I'm dying when they are for dishwashing).
If you're not sure you're committing 100%, buy a cheaper version – we did before we upgraded to Swell.
Uniqlo ultra light jacket
Costs £ 55 from Uniqlo (ships around the world)
It took me a while to go to Uniqlo, but I am sincerely addicted. They do the basics very well – and I can not recommend them enough. They do the best jeggings (which look like real trousers, they do not need irony and fit like 20 pound gloves), but they do these ultra light jackets that come in their own bag and they've saved us a few times. Obviously, not if you are in the middle of a wave of hot waves, but if you are not sure if it cools down, you throw a vest in the trunk (or vest, vests are also great!) And it will take almost no space. Their longer version is beautiful (and looks very smart) and of course men and children can have their own. The best 50 € you will spend.
If you want something similar at different price points, you will not miss Hern. (Here you will find choices in the US and European options here). I have two and I just love them.
We bought all of these things ourselves and recommended them to friends and family – and I would highly recommend to all of my readers. I hope one of these items will be useful for the upcoming trip.
What things do you think they will most benefit from?
